Ebay for dummies: come usarlo e come non farsi truffare

Qualcuno non l'ha ancora mai usato, probabilmente per paura delle truffe o poiché pensa che sia necessario lasciare in giro il proprio numero di carta di credito. Di seguito illustro brevemente alcune funzionalità e aspetti da considerare per chi vuole iniziare a usare ebay in sicurezza.
Come mi registro ?
Come in ogni altro sito, basta registrarsi gratuitamente e avere una mail funzionante (le comunicazioni con ebay e fra venditori/compratori avvengono tramite la mail che specificate).
Come funziona l'asta ?
Cercate quello che vi interessa, si può anche cercare specificando vari criteri: fasce di prezzo, distanza geografica fra voi e il venditore, aste scadenti entro x giorni.
Nell'annuncio trovate tutte le informazioni, scritte dal venditore dell'oggetto. E' specificato il prezzo corrente, data e ora di scadenza, numero di offerte fatte, metodi di pagamento accettati, costo della spedizione, feedback del venditore…
A meno che l'oggetto non sia venduto nella modalità “Compralo subito” (niente asta: comprate immediatamente), vedete il prezzo corrente e decidete se cliccare su “Fai un offerta”, ovviamente effettuando prima il login al sito. Leggete bene tutto l'annuncio prima di fare offerte, se risultaste migliori offerenti, sarete obbligati a comprare.
Ebay ha un sistema di rilancio automatico. Voi specificate la vostra offerta, però il prezzo che vedete è 50 centesimi in più dell'offerta massima del secondo miglior offerente (per i dettagli consultate le pagine di aiuto di ebay).
Come pago ?
Tra i metodi di pagamento accettati, quasi tutti accettano pagamenti con paypal (vedi paypal.it per i dettagli). In breve, paypal (servizio integrato da ebay), vi permette di avere un conto virtuale online (associato al vostro indirizzo e-mail) con cui pagare gli oggetti comprati. I fondi vengono automaticamente prelevati dalla vostra carta di credito. La carta postepay (vedi poste.it) è accettata e la consiglio, essendo comoda, ricaricabile (dagli uffici postali o online prelevando da un'altra carta) e compatibile VISA. Dal sito delle poste potete ricaricare la carta postepay di un'altra persona. Purtroppo ebay ha ultimamente vietato ai venditori di specificare questo metodo di pagamento (probabilmente più per interessi commerciali di ebay/paypal che per tutelare i compratori ), comunque se l'asta non specifica che paypal è un metodo accettato, contattate il venditore e chiedetegli se potete pagare con ricarica postepay. Come vedremo, le truffe che avvengono non dipendono generalmente dal metodo di pagamento. Il venditore può elencare anche bonifico bancario o vaglia postale, entrambi costosi e scomodi per l'acquirente.
Prima di fare un' offerta:
Verificate che la spedizione sia disponibile in italia o nella vostra provincia. Un venditore straniero potrebbe non spedire in Italia.
Se la spedizione non è prevista, mettetevi d'accordo.
Se comprate oggetti (specialmente elettronica e high-tech) da venditori stranieri, chiedete al venditore se hanno già spedito oggetti simili in Italia, può succedere che la dogana li fermi e non vi arrivino.
Mi devo fidare del venditore ?
Regola e-commerce e di ebay: prima paghi e poi il venditore spedisce. Su ebay non diamo per scontata l'onestà del venditore, consultiamone il feedback. Il feedback è un elenco di giudizi lasciati dai clienti che hanno comprato da lui in precedenza. Verifichiamo che il punteggio sia alto e che la percentuale dei giudizi positivi sia 100% o quasi. Se il feedback non supera il centinaio, andiamo anche a vedere i dettagli del feedback. Controlliamo che siano stati lasciati da clienti diversi e con un feedback non troppo basso. Questo perchè il venditore potrebbe creare account fasulli e auto-comprarsi i propri oggetti in vendita, innalzandosi rapidamente il feedback. Purtroppo il feedback non è del tutto affidabile, consiglio di visitare il sito controebay.com e leggere l'articolo relativo.
Possibili truffe e misure di sicurezza da adottare
Oggetto non corrispondente alla descrizione
Prima di fare offerte leggete bene l'annuncio, se qualcosa non è chiaro chiedete al venditore. Se una cosa non vi è chiara e fate un'offerta, una volta che avete pagato e vi arriva a casa, probabilmente il venditore non vi risarcirà.
Feedback fasulli
Come già detto, consultate sempre attentamente il feedback. Tempo fa un certo Dresker ha venduto un centinaio di CD e DVD a poco prezzo, poi ha messo in vendita 100.000 $ di articoli inesistenti ed scappato col denaro. Ebay si è difesa dalle accuse dicendo di aver migliorato il sistema di feedback ma di non averlo reso sicuro al 100%.
Spedizione assicurata ?
Per oggetti di un certo valore, fatevi spedire con pacco celere 3 o posta raccomandata assicurata, poi fatevi dare il codice della spedizione. Se scegliete posta ordinaria e il pacco viene perso, il venditore non vi risarcirà.
Attenzione alle spese di spedizione:
Capita spesso che alcuni oggetti vengano venduti a pochi euro, poi le spese di spedizione (a vostro carico) sono altissime. Guardate sempre le spese di spedizione: per gli oggetti non troppo ingombranti raramente superano 10 euro.
Attenzione alla spedizione combinata
Generalmente, acquistando più oggetti da uno stesso venditore, pagate solo una volta la spedizione, o la pagate poco di più. Sarete così invogliati a comprare molti oggetti di poco valore dallo stesso venditore ignorando le spese di spedizione. Molti venditori, soprattutto venditori stranieri, sfruttano questa imprudenza dei compratori, impostando i costi di spedizione per ogni oggetto, anche se poi ve li spediscono tutti insieme. Così una volta concluse le varie aste, vi troverete a pagare tutte le spese di spedizione. Chiedete al venditore se volete comprare più oggetti.
Consultate l'elenco degli oggetti in vendita del venditore
Potrebbe succedere che un venditore con punteggio alto, decida di fare un “colpaccio”, ovvero vende x oggetti ad alto valore, tutti con scadenza lo stesso giorno. Poi riceve x pagamenti ma non spedisce nulla. A questo punto, i compratori lasciano i feedback negativi, ma ormai hanno già pagato tutti o quasi.
Verificate gli altri oggetti messi in vendita dal venditore: se ci sono molti oggetti di valore scadenti lo stesso giorno e la frequenza temporale media delle vendite del venditore è bassa, diffidate.
Il venditore potrebbe anche aver venduto lo stesso oggetto (annunci diversi) a più persone.
Se in questi casi siete insicuri, aspettate a pagare e chiedete ai suoi compratori (potete farlo, vedete l'elenco delle offerte dentro l'annuncio) se hanno ricevuto gli oggetti.
Offerte fuori ebay
Quando fate un'offerta, il vostro username compare nella lista delle offerte di un oggetto e qualcuno potrebbe contattarvi. Se vi arrivano proposte, considerate che poi non potrete lasciare un feedback ed è rischioso. Chiedete in questi casi un recapito in modo da sapere almeno con chi avete a che fare. Ci sono dei truffatori che contattano continuamente gli offerenti offrendogli l'oggetto che cercavano ad un prezzo inferiore (bidding).
Altri consigli
- Diffidate di annunci con errori ortografici o non chiari
- Considerate che un'oggetto spedito da un altro continente può arrivare anche 20-30 giorni dopo.
- Prima di comprare qualcosa che non conoscete bene, controllatene il valore di mercato su altri siti di e-commerce o aggregatori di prodotti in vendita, tipo kelkoo.com
-Se volete vendere qualcosa, considerate che una percentuale sul valore finale è trattenuta da ebay. Se vi fate pagare con paypal, un'ulteriore percentuale è trattenuta sulla transazione.
Conclusioni
Il fenomeno ebay ha assunto una importante posizione nel mercato mondiale. Potete verificare di persona: troverete spesso quello che cercate a un prezzo molto probabilmente inferiore a quello di un qualsiasi negozio, ovviamente dovrete considerare anche le spese di spedizione a vostro carico.
Purtroppo i truffatori sono sempre presenti, occhi aperti e valutate attentamente ogni dettaglio! Trovate tutte le regole e procedure per le aste nella Community di ebay.it. Consultate anche siti che parlano di truffe e leggete recensioni su ebay da altri siti.
